Village In Running For Website
Finals
The website for the village of Helmdon, near Banbury, is in
line for a national award.
The competition, run by UK Villages Online, aims to find the
best village website for 2003.
The Helmdon site - www.helmdon.com - was a monthly winner in
March last year and qualifies for this year's finals.
A spokesman for UK Villages OnLine said: "Many village
sites are labours of love and not done for commercial gain.
We look at many aspects of design - community spirit, ease of
use, and orginality. A site must also be browser-friendly and
reasonably non-commercial."
Polling is open until midnight on March 31st and people can
vote by visiting www.helmdon.com and following the links.
UK Villages OnLine is the first website dedicated to villages.
It contains a directory of village websites on a county by county
basis.
