HELMDON FORMS ITS OWN
MUMS' CLUB
Twenty four members attended the Helmdon Young Wives and Mothers’ Group at its inaugural meeting on November 3rd. This was looked on as a very good beginning.
Mrs Williams, Northamptonshire Group Advisory Health Visitor gave an informal talk about the Northamptonshire County Mothers’ Clubs, so that the Helmdon Group could decide whether it wished to be registered as one of them. Mrs Williams said that Mothers’ Clubs were very good for mental health as they enabled women to get to know their neighbours. If the Helmdon Group wished to be registered, it would have a free hand apart from the stipulation that during the year three talks should be given on health subjects. The Group would also be able to join in Quizzes and Rallies. Mrs Williams also gave general advice on running the club.
UNDER-FIVES PARTY
After Mrs Williams’ talk, the Group discussed arrangements for an “under-fives” Christmas party and details of the Christmas Bazaar which is to be held on November 21st in the Reading Room Helmdon. There will be stalls selling cakes, plants produce and toys, a tombola, and grand draw. Refreshments will also be available.
At the next meeting to be held on Thursday, December 4th at 8 pm in the Reading Room, there will be a demonstration of Christmas table decorations. New members will be very welcome.
