CALL FOR NEW GREAT CENTRAL LINE INSTEAD OF HS2
The English Regional Transport Association (ERTA) has decided it does not want HS2 or its northerly extensions, and would prefer a new Great Central reopened with loop commuter lines to include Daventry and Buckingham. The ERTA said: “We believe that out of some £50 billion for HS2 we’d still have plenty of change and save London and West London from planning blight, air pollution and a bogus railway which links neither HS1 or Channel Tunnel, doesn’t cater for freight, with limited stations (speed being its goal”.
