HELMDON BEAT FOXHILL TO LIFT CUP

With the Croughton & District Billiards League programme competed the attention is now focused on the cup competitions.

In the first of the finals, Helmdon lifted the Sid Williams Cup, beating Foxhill 4-1 which came through wins from James Turnham, Tom Hirst and Tony Wilson while Joe Kingston prevented a clean sweep.

Overthorpe beat Helmdon by 4-1 in the semi-final of the Ron Jackson trophy.  Tony Best, Gary Boswell and David Lake all won while James Turnham was Helmdon’s only success.

Marston A made it through to the final of Terry Annable Cup when beating Brackley Bowls 4-1.  Brian Markham won for Brackley but wins from David Wiggins, Philip Walker and Carl Knox sealed Marston’s victory.
