LOOK FOR FOOD HYGIENE SCHEME
South Northants Council is highlighting the food Hygiene Rating Scheme in the lead up to Valentine’s Day.
The scheme rates food businesses on their hygiene standards, based on inspections carried out by SNCs health protection team. Business in the area are rated on a scale ranging from zero which means ‘urgent improvement necessary’ to a top rating of five which is ‘very good’.
The number of premises currently rated three or above is 702 out of a total of 732.
Restaurant goers should look out for the green and black food hygiene rating stickers displayed on the windows and doors, and if it is not visible, then ask or check online at www.food.gov.uk/ratings
