ROYAL HONOUR FOR TIRELESS VOLUNTEER

Will Adams, former reverend and Brackley-based charity supporter and volunteer, has been presented with a special award by HRH The Princes Royal.
Princess Anne gave Mr Adams the award at The Princess Royal Livability Awards in Greenwich, London. It is an event hosted by Livability – the charity which runs the East Midlands service for which Mr Adams volunteers and of which Princess Anne is the patron.
The charity holds the ceremony every year to celebrate the achievements of staff, supporters and volunteers.
Princess Anne presented Mr Adams with a certificate for Outstanding Supporter and Volunteer. He was one of seven winners on the evening.
Mr Adams has raised significant amounts of money and awareness for the charity over the years, including organising sponsored motorcycle rides twice a year in the Cotswolds.
He said: “I am delighted to have won this award. It’s a real honour. I love supporting Livability and the work of their Lifestyle Choices service in the East Midlands is great. I always walk away feeling lifted up by the people I support. It’s a privilege.
Mandy Himpson, services manager for Livability Lifestyle Choices in the East Midlands, said: “Will Adams has been a much-valued supporter and friend of Livability Lifestyle Choices East Midlands for more than 10 years.
“His generosity and selfless work for others has made him a popular and welcome part of the service in Brackley.”
Charmaine Tanner, from Livabiity Lifestyle Choices East Midlands said: “ Will is a tireless supporter of many charities and we are extremely fortunate to be one of his chosen causes. I am glad he has been recognised for his long-standing commitment to us.”
Dave Webber, Livability CEO, said: “As a national charity Livability has more than 1,600 members of staff, delivering disability and community services around the UK.
Along with key supporters and volunteers, they make an immense contribution to our work and the impact on the lives of our service users.”
Livability is a Christian charity which provides disability services, community projects, education and training resources which promote inclusion and wellbeing.
