SANTA DROPS IN TO RAISE CHURCH FUNDS

Father Christmas was a special guest at a Yuletide bazaar in Helmdon last weekend.

The long running annual event was held in the village reading room on Saturday afternoon. As well as Santa’s appearance, there was a chance to buy, sell and teas were on offer.

Jean Spendlove, member of the Parochial Church Council, said:”It was a cheerful occasion and an occasion that people enjoy.

“We raised £730.   It’s a very useful sum but less than usual.”

The £730 raised at the bazaar will go toward running cost at the village church, St Mary Magdalene.
