Talkabout Ceases Publication - posted 6 September 2011

The publication of village news in the form of a twice yearly booklet (in latter years entitled Talkabout) has ceased.  In future the paish council proposes to publish quarterly newsletters, the first of which will be circulated in autumn 2011.

Contribution Reminder For Spring Talkabout - posted 22 February 2011

Just a reminder that if you wish to place an article in the Spring issue of Talkabout I need your copy by 1st March.  Please send it as a word document to talkabout@helmdon.com and any photos as a jpeg.

Still Required: Publisher For Talkabout - posted 10 November 2010

We still need a publisher for talkabout.  The main task for a publisher is to make and keep contact with advertisers, collecting and banking their payments, and keeping the financial records.  We have an established system for this, and the time commitment is a few hours for each issue spread over the prior six months. Until we can appoint such as person, please send advertisement enquires, copy and payments to me.

Deadlines for 2011 are:

Spring issue    -    22 February (non time critical), 1 March (time critical)

Autumn issue   -   24 August (non time critical), 1 September (time critical)

Please, if possible send me your material as a Miscrosoft Word Document,        to e-mail (not to my work or personal e-mail address).  If you need to handwrite or type your material please post it through my door at 53 Wappenham Road.  Photographs please as JPEGS.

To date we have no volunteer Publisher for the twice yearly Talkabout.

The main task for the Publisher is to make and keep contact with advertisers, collecting and banking their payments, and keeping the financial records. Deadlines For Issues Of Talkabout   - posted 23 April 2010

This is YOUR Helmdon news magazine, and the articles, adverts, and information in it comes from you; I merely put it together. So if you have views and news you want to pass on to the people in the Parish, let me have these before the editing deadline.

I aim to produce Talkabout in spring and autumn, and you can send your material to me at any time during the year, when the thought is at the front of your mind; please don’t wait for a deadline date. It takes several days to put the publication together, so the earlier I have your material the better.

Autumn issue, 2010: 24 August (non time critical), 1 September (time critical).
